TALKTECH

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 8, 2026

We make tech talk. We do not make your data blab. Here is the plain-language version of what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

This policy describes how the TalkTech website currently handles information. It is a starting template that TalkTech shares in good faith, and it is not legal advice. TalkTech may refine it with its own counsel.

Who we are and how to reach us

This website is operated by TalkTech, a technology consultancy run by Scott Spirek. For any privacy question or request, email loading....

What we collect

We keep data collection light. Here is what the site gathers.

  • Contact form details. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message, plus your phone number and company name if you choose to add them. The form is processed through Netlify Forms, our hosting provider.
  • SMS opt-in. If you check the text-message opt-in box, we also record that you opted in and the phone number you provide, so we can text you.
  • Basic server logs. Like most websites, our host (Netlify) automatically records standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type as part of serving the site.
  • We self-host our fonts, so loading the site does not hand your visit to a third-party font service.
  • Aggregate, non-identifying usage analytics. We measure how the site is used, such as pages viewed, the referring source, approximate country, and device or browser type. This is collected through Umami Cloud, a cookieless analytics service. It is not tied to you as an individual, and it does not follow you across other sites.

We do not ask for sensitive information, and please do not send it through the form.

How we use your information

We use what we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiry and talk with you about your project.
  • Provide, discuss, and improve our services.
  • Send service and marketing text messages, but only to people who checked the SMS opt-in box.

We do not use your information for anything we have not described here.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies, and it does not build advertising profiles about you. Our analytics are cookieless, so there is no tracking cookie to consent to and no cookie banner is required.

If we ever introduce cookie-based tracking or advertising pixels, we will add that disclosure here, along with a way to opt out, before they take effect.

Text messaging (SMS) program

If you opt in on our contact form, here is how our text messages work.

  • You give consent by checking the opt-in box. It is never pre-checked.
  • Consent covers service messages and marketing messages from TalkTech.
  • Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
  • Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP at any time to opt out. Reply HELP for help.

We do not sell or share the phone numbers collected here for the marketing of anyone else. You can review the opt-in language on our contact form.

Sharing and sale of your data

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the site and handle your inquiry, such as Netlify, our hosting and form provider, and Umami Cloud, our analytics provider. These providers process data on our behalf, not for their own marketing.

Umami Cloud is a hosted, third-party, privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service. It processes aggregate, non-identifying usage data on our behalf as a processor. That data is not sold, and it is not used for cross-site tracking or advertising profiling.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

Not active yet

Do Not Sell or Share / Opt out of targeted advertising

We do not sell personal data or run targeted advertising today, so there is nothing to opt out of right now. If that ever changes, this is where you would opt out, and you would be able to do it by emailing loading.... This option is currently inactive.

Your Indiana privacy rights

Indiana has a consumer data privacy law, the Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act (Indiana Code Article 24-15), effective January 1, 2026. Based on our size and how we operate, we do not believe TalkTech is a controller required to comply with the Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act, but we honor the rights described here voluntarily.

If you are an Indiana resident, you can ask us to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal data and access it.
  • Correct inaccuracies in your personal data.
  • Delete personal data we hold about you.
  • Get a portable copy of the data you provided, where applicable.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling. As noted above, we do not currently do these.

To exercise any of these, email loading.... We aim to respond within 45 days. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to that same address, and we will review the appeal. We offer these choices to Indiana residents, and we will honor reasonable requests from people elsewhere as well.

Data retention

We keep inquiry and lead information for 36 months after our last contact with you, and then we delete it, unless a longer period is required by law.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect. No website or method of transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we work to keep your data safe.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. When we do, we will revise the date at the top. The Last updated date always reflects the current version.
